Sea Base 2011
Scouts going to Sea Base Info:
Scouts going on the Sea Base trip need to get a passport. The boy will need his original birth certificate.
Both parents must be there with their drivers license. Single parents: if the other parent is on the birth certificate, then there is a form the absent parent must complete if both parents can't go with the boy to get his passport. There is an Oath that both parents must sign in front of the postmaster.
The cost is $80 for the passport. The post office has a $25 fee and if they do pictures it is an additional $15. This is two separate payments -- one will be stapled to the paperwork sent in to get the passport and the other is to Post Office. Most of the time it takes about 2 - 4 weeks to get the passport but you don't want to wait just in case there is a problem. Two places to get the passport is the District Clerks office, 3rd floor of the Gregg county courthouse and Mobberly Ave. Post office be sure to call ahead for the hours they will process these. I think both stop at 4 p.m. but am not sure.
We will also need to have a Health and Medical Record form for each person going on this trip. Mr Kaster has those available for completion. Also now available from Mr. Kaster are the Sea Base information booklets. These booklets contain detailed information about the trip and an extensive equipment list.
